In this online course, students will learn techniques for creating well-designed maps for a variety of output media. Maps can provide important visual explanations of complex geographic information. This course introduces students to topics essential to good map design, including graphic design principles, typography, and visual variables. Lab exercises provide multiple opportunities for hands-on experience with map-making and web design software programs. This course was formerly referred to as “N004-CART” and now is listed as “CART.”
